ESI President Gerald Knaus meets George Soros and UN Best Practices Unit

13 April 2004

During his recent US-trip, ESI President Gerald Knaus was welcomed in New York by George Soros, the founder and chairman of the Open Society Institute. George Soros and Gerald Knaus spoke about the ongoing ESI research in South Eastern Europe. The very good cooperation between OSI and ESI will be fostered and expanded in the future, and several ideas on new projects have been exchanged.

In order to share the experiences made with the Lessons Learned and Analysis Unit in Kosovo, Gerald Knaus met with the head of the United Nations Best Practices Unit, a think-tank within the UN, which was set up to analyse former UN missions and to implement conceptual changes to improve new missions.
