ESI chairman Gerald Knaus and senior analyst Alexandra Stiglmayer were invited to a round table on "Prospects and Challenges of Visa Liberalization Process in Georgia" organised by the Georgian Institute for Strategic Studies (GISS) in cooperation with the Embassy of Lithuania to Georgia. The workshop was attended by high-level officials from the Georgian Government, Parliament, the EU Delegation, and experts from non-governmental organisations. Gerald and Alex talked about the experience of other countries, in the particular the Western Balkans in the EU's visa liberalisation process. The project objective is to establish a platform/network of interested parties to cooperate on issues related to visa liberalization and to encourage civil society engagement in the process.
